Superbilling

What is superbilling?

Superbilling is a process for out-of-network billing: you pay upfront for your services and are given the invoice to submit to the insurance company. The insurance company will reimburse you directly. It is important to note that the reimbursement will be determined by the insurance company- not by the provider or by Mind and Motion. You can call your insurance company to ask for the reimbursement rate.

How do I know if I need to submit a superbill to my insurance company?

If Mind and Motion is not in-network with your insurance company, you can call your insurance company to ask if they accept superbills. They will also be able to tell you the reimbursement rate.

CPT Codes

Insurance companies may ask for the billing codes. The following are common CPT billing codes for mental health:

90971 - Intake

90837 - Individual (60 minutes)

90834 - Individual (45 minutes)

90847 - Family

FAQs

Do you accept EAPs?

No. Unfortunately, we do not accept EAPs.

Do I have to have insurance?

No. We accept out of pocket pay. Cash, check, debit, and most major credit cards. 

 

How do I know if you accept my insurance?

The easiest way to know if we are in-network with your insurance is to call them directly to ask. Be sure to provide them with the name of the provider as well as the Mind and Motion address, 7925 S Broadway Ave Suite 920, Tyler, Texas 75703-5227. There are certain plans within major insurance companies that we do not accept.

Why do you not accept my insurance?

​As a new business, we are working to establish contracts with many major insurance groups including BlueCross BlueShield, United HealthCare, Aetna, and Medicaid. This just takes time!

What happens if I change insurance?

If you change insurance for any reason, you will need to provide your updated information as soon as possible. A lapse in coverage may mean you will be charged the full rate of the session. If you change to a plan that we do not accept then you will have to decide if you want to change providers or pay out of pocket. If you choose to change providers, we can help you find a new provider and offer a referral.​​​
