Mind and Motion accepts BlueCross BlueShield

Mind and Motion, PLLC is currently accepting the following:

BlueCross BlueShield

Superbilling

What is superbilling?

Superbilling is a process for out-of-network billing: you pay upfront for your services and your provider will give you the invoice to submit to your insurance company. The insurance company will reimburse you directly. It is important to note that the reimbursement will be determined by the insurance company- not by the provider or by Mind and Motion. You can call your insurance company to ask for the reimbursement rate.

How do I know if I need to submit a superbill to my insurance company?

If Mind and Motion is not in-network with your insurance company, you can call your insurance company to ask if they accept superbills. Your insurance company will also be able to tell you the reimbursement rate. Mind and Motion and its providers do not know the reimbursement rates. You can find a script to follow here. SCRIPT

CPT Codes

Insurance companies may ask for the billing codes. The following are common CPT billing codes for mental health:

90971 - Intake

90837 - Individual (60 minutes)

90847 - Family

90846 - Family without client present

FAQs

Do you accept EAPs?

No. Unfortunately, we do not accept EAPs.

Do I have to have insurance?

No. We accept out of pocket pay. Cash, check, debit, and most major credit cards.

How do I know if you accept my insurance?

The easiest way to know if we are in-network with your insurance is to call them directly to ask. Be sure to provide them with the name of the provider as well as the Mind and Motion address, 7925 S Broadway Ave Suite 920, Tyler, Texas 75703-5227. There are certain plans within major insurance companies that we do not accept.

Why do you not accept my insurance?

We are not in-network with every insurer due to administrative requirements and treatment limitations imposed by some insurance companies. Remaining out-of-network with certain plans allows us to provide more flexible, individualized care focused on your clinical needs rather than insurance restrictions.

What do I do if you don't accept my insurance?

You will pay out of pocket for services and then we can provide you with a superbill.  A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company if we are not in-network with your plan. If your policy includes out-of-network benefits, your insurer may reimburse you directly for part of the cost. Reimbursement amounts and eligibility are determined by your insurance provider.

How do I know if I have out-of-network benefits?

The best way to find out is to contact your insurance company directly. Ask whether your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits and what percentage of sessions are reimbursed after meeting your deductible. You will also want to ask if a superbill is required and whether pre-authorization is needed. You can find a script to follow here. SCRIPT

What happens if I change insurance?

If you change insurance for any reason, you will need to provide your updated information as soon as possible. A lapse in coverage may mean you will be charged the full rate of the session. If you change to a plan that we do not accept then you will have to decide if you want to change providers or pay out of pocket. If you choose to change providers, we can help you find a new provider and offer a referral.
